Ahh, my dear reader. I was wondering when you’d click on this game.
I take it you are wondering why this game is entitled “Palaeontological Excavation” and how it functions.
Well, wonder no more. Palaeontology is the branch of science concerned with fossils, I am sure we can agree with that much, and therefore ‘Paleontological’ is merely something that is related to palaeontology.
Now an ‘Excavation’ is really something special as it is the act of unearthing something.
In this case, that something is a fossil
So all these definitions aside, how does this game function? Well, you merely wander around the board, excavating fossils from some pre-established dig sites, dragging them through the treacherous landscape until you can hand those fossils over to a mad doctor who will then turn them into diples, the genetic code from which dinosaurs can then be cloned.
How does this doctor know that a dinosaur could be cloned, well he has done it once or twice. In fact, that is the reason the landscape is quite treacherous, or shall we say, tyrannosaurus.
Don’t be alarmed, you’re all quite capable of using your specialist abilities to overcome such a trivial obstacle and if worst comes to worst, you can simply ditch the fossils and leg it back to base camp while the beast snuffles around the dropped material.
Why would you want to partake in such a frivolous and dangerous sport? Well, we all have our reasons. But most of all, because it is fun!
